My chapbook Old Woman and Eel and Other Prose Pieces was recently published (Nov. 2022) by Ravenna Press, Triple Series (Seattle).
“I thought then of the first eel who lived high in the sky. I thought of the sun eel. The eels who were stars. I did not and do not wish the river eels to return to them, to aspire their great heights. They have been on earth too long, two hundred million years . . . . I would miss them.”
The chapbook is elegaic and folkloric in spirit with elegies for wild and domestic animals (eel, parrot, and cat).
